The Jars of Claymation Story
The name “Jars of Claymation” is inspired by the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:7:
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay...”.
Paul was speaking about how knowledge of the glory of God revealed in Jesus Christ is carried by ordinary people who share the gospel message. But the image itself is a powerful one. In the ancient world, jars of clay were ordinary earthen vessels—simple, useful, and unremarkable. Yet clay vessels could be used to hold things of extraordinary value.
That idea is at the heart of what we do—we use the simple, handmade appearance of clay to bring important stories, ideas, and messages to life.
A second inspiration behind Jars of Claymation is the remarkable creative potential of AI. New tools make it possible to turn photographs, people, places and ideas into imaginative claymation worlds—and to tell stories in ways that until recently would have required the resources of an animation studio.
We use those possibilities for two purposes: to create Christian stories and ministry resources that communicate timeless truths in a fresh visual form, and to help businesses and organizations tell their own stories in a distinctive and memorable way.
Ancient inspiration + new technology = stories brought to life in clay.
